Up the tree - Into the tree:

We walk in the forest, - find a tree - an elm ?
Climb it - wonder how it grows. And how did it die?
Are there special parts of the tree we can use for woodcraft later on?
What can we do make out of this? Is it a sculpture of a Nordic God we are going to create, or could it be kitchen shelves for Mum?

We cut down the tree-top, fell the tree and cut it into suitable bits of wood.
We work in the forest when weather permits - We work with carving axe, chisels, and chain-saw. We learn about all the different and interesting tools, enabling us to make large sculptures of this kind.
This course is for nature lovers, and people who are not afraid of hard work or cold and rough weather.

My contribution to the process is first and foremost creative thinking.

I also bring chain-saws, safety equipment, tools and everything else. You may work with the chain-saw if you are experienced - or you work with all the other tools. Bring your own tools, if you want - the rest of us might learn some "tricks of the trade" from you as well !

Max. number of persons in this course is 12.

Treeclimbing for fun and for educational purposes:

Experience the tree in a new and different way!

Through play and serious work, we climb trees in parks and forests.
We look at and try out different climbing equipment, Swedish, German, English, and American gear. We learn about ropes, crabs and other "goodies" that make climbing the tree an exiting experience.

We only climb with equipment used within arboriculture. We train people in climbing techniques and test and perform emergency procedures.

When we find our climbing tree, we talk about it. What trees are suitable for climbing? Is it beech, elm or maybe an oak? What to look out for, and is it safe to climb trees with dead branches? How do you cut down a dead branch - or a fresh one? Where do you climb, and who do you ask for permission.

When we want to relax in the treetop, we will fit hammocks and "treeboats". (Isolated and with tents). If wanted, it will be possible to spend the night in the trees. If you have harnesses or other interesting gear, that you might want use or to demonstrate for a discussion, then you are most welcome to bring them with you!

The climbing will be technical, i.e. climbing in the rope with "Prussik knot" or "Blake knot". The technique gives the individual person a high degree of mobility in the trees. If possible, in the evening we will watch videos of climbing in the world's biggest trees.

We start low, and only climb according to the wishes and capabilities of each individual!!

I have equipment for 14 persons.
It's for all - big and small.
It's playing and enjoying the nature - it´s life.

Call me and hear more.
